Bohemian couple Cyril and Fiona (Charles Dance and Sheryl Lee) travel to a remote location in an unnamed Latin country to escape the convention of middle class morality. Committed to the notion of "open marriage," they find themselves attracted to Catherine (Laila Robins) and Hugh (Colin Lane), recent arrivals who move into the villa next door. But, as the four interlocking characters pursue sexual idylls, what proves to be liberating for some is inevitably destructive to others.
